Meaning: Named for the Hwa-Rang military youth group (originated in the Silla Dynasty in 567 A.D.) which was the driving force behind the unification of Korea. The 29 movements represent General Choi's 29th Infantry Division, in which Taekwon-Do grew to maturity.

Starting Position: Facing North, Ready Stance "C" (Feet together, left hand open resting on top of the open right hand, held at waist level)
  1. Direction: North  Stance: Horse   Action: Execute a Left Open-Hand Inside Block with tension
  2. Direction: North  Stance: Horse   Action: Left Reverse Punch, followed by a Right Reverse Punch
  3. Direction: East  Stance: Right Back   Action: Mountain Block
  4. Direction: East  Stance: Right Back   Action: Without moving, execute a Left Uppercut Punch
  5. Direction: North  Stance: Horse   Action: Without moving, execute a Right Side Punch to the East
  6. Direction: North  Stance: Drawn Up   Action: Draw up with the Left Hand at trigger, and execute a Right Downward Chop to the East with tension
  7. Direction: East  Stance: Right Front   Action: Left Reverse Punch
  8. Direction: North  Stance: Left Front   Action: Turn 90 degrees left, and execute a Low Block
