Meaning: -The literal translation is thirteen, which represents the thirteen opponents which the practitioner faces during this kata. The kicks in this kata are low, even for a Japanese/Okinawan
kata, because it was developed to tell the story of a woman carrying a baby on her back, while defending herself against her thirteen attackers.
Starting Position: Facing North, Horse Stance. Step out into a Left Front Stance with the Left Palm extended (this is to show that
you are unarmed, but are prepared to defend yourself), and then return. Turn the feet and fists outward as you bow, and then inward as you return.
