Meaning:  The symbol is Gon; meaning the Earth, which is the foundation of the growth for all life. It is the beginning of the life and all lives must return to where they began. Taegeuk Pal Jang is the last poomse before becomming a Black Belt. The end means a new beginning. Perfection of all basic Taekwondo and maturity of character is the goal at this stage. Pride, confidence, and dignity during training will result in Black Belt prerequisites of honesty and humbleness.

  1. Direction: North  Stance: Left Back   Action: Step forward into a Left Back stance in a fighting position, then pivot into a Front Stance, and execute a Right Reverse Punch
  2. Direction: North  Stance: Left Front   Action: Execute a Left Jumping Front Snap Kick, land in a Left Front stance while executing a Left Inside Block, followed up with a Right Reverse Punch and a Left Reverse Punch
  3. Direction: North  Stance: Right Front   Action: Right Reverse Punch
  4. Direction: East  Stance: Right Front   Action: Turn 135 degrees left, and execute a Right Half Mountain Block, with the head turned to face East
